Read the full research overview

The Empower Lab develops digital therapeutics and behavioral interventions through human-centered design, with an emphasis on health equity. Researchers explore games, tangible objects, musical interfaces, immersive environments and socially assistive robots as forms for these technologies. Projects address mental health, women's health, mobility and pain, aging at home and childhood development. The work combines iterative design and prototyping with implementation, interviews, observation and user studies to develop and evaluate interactive tools.
