About the research

How are specific axonemal components assembled to control ciliary motility?

Read the full research overview

The group investigates assembly roles of proteins such as FAP57/WDR65 in inner arm dynein targeting and regulatory hubs. The group studies PACRG and FAP20 in forming inner junctions of axonemal doublet microtubules and their regulation of ciliary motility. The group analyzes microtubule-binding proteins that regulate dyneins during microtubule sliding to explain motility mechanisms. The group develops methods to analyze calcium/calmodulin signaling and other molecular mechanisms that control ciliary function.
